Safe Nest, Strong Wings

We are a Department of Early Learning and Care (DELC) license-exempt childcare located in NE Portland, operating since March 2026.

Our program is growing slowly and intentionally, beginning with a small group of four children. This allows us to create a calm, nurturing environment where every child is truly seen, heard, and supported. Our days are shaped by curiosity, play, and meaningful relationships.

Through inquiry-based experiences, children are encouraged to explore their ideas, follow their interests, and discover the world around them. We believe childhood deserves time, connection, and care. We value each child’s voice, creativity, and unique way of learning, helping them grow into confident learners and caring members of our community.

Health & Safety

At Nest & Wings, your child’s health and safety are at the heart of everything we do. We create a calm, clean, and secure space where children can explore with confidence and feel comfortable. Our days are guided by simple, consistent practices—regular handwashing, thoughtful cleaning, and close, attentive supervision.

All residents in the home are fingerprinted and have completed background checks, helping ensure a safe and trustworthy environment for every child. We follow the Early Learning and Care recommendations and ask that children stay home if they show any symptoms. We are trained in first aid and prepared to respond with care in any situation. Above all, we believe safety is also about how children feel. We nurture a space where every child is respected, supported, and deeply cared for.
